Can I have more than one of the same Upgrade on the battlefield?

Yes. Upgrades aren’t unique. You could have two characters each with the same Weapon, for
example.

Some Upgrades say "Put on [something] only." How does that work?

These abilities describe what kind of character the Upgrade can be put on. This is usually a trait such
as Melee, Plane, or Insecticon. An Upgrade can be put on a character only if that character matches the
listed requirement.

Let’s say I have an Upgrade that says "Put on Planes only" and I put it on a Plane. But then next turn I
flip the Plane to its other mode, and it’s no longer a Plane. What happens?

The Upgrade stays with the character it’s on. That ability limits only what the Upgrade can initially be
put on. Once that happens, the Upgrade doesn’t check again.

Notes from Deck of the Day:
"Todays card of the day is Inner Grove from wave 3A.

Not a very heavily played card, this is usually the first card to get cut from the Blaster versus Soundwave decks. However, it is the best stat boost on a utility in the game (at least in terms of attack and defense), even though it's limited to mini-cassettes. There's a few ways to play with the mini-cassettes to make this work, pairing them with their masters is always a good option for that extra star reduction and effect on their bot flips, playing them as your 5 star support can be pretty worthwhile in most cases, and a full team of them is pretty fun too. Which is what I've decided to go with here, removing that downside of Inner Grove by playing a full team of characters that can use it.

You could really play any mini-cassettes here, I just opted for the mostly blue oriented decepticon ones, also going with perhaps a more thematic angle by playing the most prominent ones in the G1 cartoon. Ravage is a nice way to push damage through in a blue deck with both modes, Buzzsaw can allow you to play extra pierce weapons and get more use out of them, Frenzy can turn off opposing player's tough against other blue shell decks, Ratbat can mess up extra draws, and Rumble can push damage through and perhaps deal with some nasty upgrades in the right circumstances. One argument to playing Autobot mini-cassettes, despite having less options, is being able to use Daring Counterattack, you won't get the pierce 6 whilst playing only mini-cassettes, but that attack boost can get really big in the late game, though they more lend themselves to an orange build that doesn't really value Inner Grove as much as a blue deck does, so I opted for the decepticon blue shell.

As far as battle card choice, we've got Inner Grove as well as Obstructive Rhythm to take advantage of having a full team of mini-cassettes. Obstructive Rhythm is particularly good in the early game, being the most efficient tough armor in the game whilst you have all of your characters around, and still pretty good even late game when there's two of them, it's equivalent to Reinforced Plating and Sparring Gear. The Bigger They Are, Scoundrel's Blaster and Laser Cutlass are nice ways to push damage through using the small star cost of these characters, and Frag Toss and Backfire are really nice direct damage options for a decepticon deck. One of the really fun cards in my opinion is Inferno Breath, being able to tap one of your mini-cassettes that you weren't able to flip before they attack to shoot someone for 3 is really nice in the right circumstances. Otherwise, pretty typical blue shell, double blues, drill arms to get rid of annoying armors and perhaps draw some cards, nice fodder for Buzzsaw to play and move around, Handheld Blaster and Lie In Wait to tank a little more than these guys probably should, some removal in Smelt and Vaporize, though if you get enough flips in Rumble can provide even more removal when necessary, Inspiring Leadership allows you to get rid of double blues and hopefully draw into more helpful cards. Some additions that could be helpful would be Rapid Conversion to flip all of your guys to bot mode before they need to attack, perhaps running blue/black cards to help get pierce damage through against more tanky decks, or weapons and actions more focused on attack than pierce to work better against more aggressive decks.

I think the main strategy for this deck is to flip each of your characters and swing with them when able, early Buzzsaw and Ravage attacks can be particularly annoying for blue decks. Ratbat and Frenzy are likely more situational, only doing well in particular matchups against high draw or high tough decks. Rumble seems best against aggro decks, swinging for 6 in bot by scrapping a card isn't much effort, and is more effective against lower defence characters than the pierce granted by Ravage and Buzzsaw's weapon plays. His alt flip is also more helpful against decks whose upgrades are few and rarely stick around. Against most teams, you won't be able to flip all of your characters to bot mode before they attack, much less get them back down again, so Inferno Breath and Ratbat's alt mode ability can be really good uses of them instead of swinging for 0. Also, keep in mind the stealth on their alt modes, if one of your characters is really important against your opponent, perhaps leaving them in alt mode until after the first untap can be helpful to protect them from incoming attacks. However, if you go second, all of your characters have stealth, so unfortunately, none of them will, so keep that in mind when choosing who gets to play first."
