I wondering, given that Volcanicus is a Dinobot, is he a valid target for wave 2 Grimlocks ability that lets you put Dinobots from outside the game into the KO area?
No. Volcanicus cant exist outside of the game because he needs to be combined inside the game, so Grimlock cannot recruit him into the game.
